Our current President is Perçin İmrek.

The President serves as the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for general supervision and operation of the club. The President presides at club meetings and leads the board in planning and accomplishing club responsibilities and goals. In coordination with other club officers, the President is responsible for submission of the club’s semi- annual membership report to World Headquarters. The President is the principal communicator to Toastmasters International.

Specific duties:

  • Opens and closes every club meeting according to protocol.
  • Encourage all officers to learn and perform their roles to the best of their abilities.
  • Plan and follow-up on goals set by club.
  • Ensure that officer-elections and membership renewals are send to TMI in time.
  • Inform club about workshops/contests etc. being organized by other clubs.


Our current Vice-President of Education is Özgün Kaplama.

The VPE is responsible for planning successful club meetings which provide each member the opportunity to achieve his or her educational goals. The VPE guides members in planning and accomplishing Communication and Leadership Track Programs and other educational programs.

Specific duties:

  • Schedules speeches and other agenda assignments.
  • Signs member’s manuals, updates member progress charts and reports educational program completion to World Headquarters.
  • Coordinates with each week’s Toastmaster of the Evening and provides the necessary information such as who has an assigned duty, provides email addresses/telephone numbers for the people with upcoming duties, and gives the future Toastmaster a sample agenda to follow.
  • Ensures that a new member receives orientation to the Toastmasters educational program and is assigned a mentor if desired.
  • In the absence of the President, the VPE presides at club and board meetings.
  • Introduces new members to the procedures of the club.


Our current Vice-President of Membership is Ahmet Çınar.

The VPM plans, organizes and implements an on-going effort to ensure that the club maintains or exceeds a charter membership level of 20 primarily by keeping Guests engaged and involved in each meeting to encourage their future participation.

Specific duties:

  • Maintains attendance records and an accurate membership roster.
  • Provides recognition of Toastmasters who contribute to the increase of club membership.
  • Follows up and contacts guests who have observed club meetings and encourages them to come again and join the club.
  • Provides e-mail address to owner of our club e-mail list so that new members are included in all announcements.
  • Keeps membership list up to date and distributes these every 6 months or after there are major changes to all members.
  • Helps new members to fill in forms and after checking for accuracy passes a copy of the form to club treasurer & president.
  • Communicates next step with guests and new members to allow them to fully benefit from the Toastmasters experience.


Our current Vice-President of Public Relations is Nayef Qassaba.

The VPPR develops, implements and administers a program that maintains a positive image of Toastmasters for all members, guests and the general public. This officer is responsible for internal and external public relations for the club.

Specific duties:

  • Prepares and distributes news releases regarding club activities and publicizing club events.
  • Works with club officers to develop club-specific material to be given to guests along with other more generic Toastmasters public relations material.
  • With the Secretary, coordinates with the proper person in charge of the Istanbul Toastmasters web page and makes sure that it is up to date and accurate.
  • Takes pictures and videos during club meetings to feed social media sites.
  • Feeds our Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Pinterest with Club Pictures, Videos and Posts to keep followers engaged.
  • Actively communicates with local media and journalists to maximize coverage on Istanbul Toastmasters


Our current secretary is Iulia Nicorici.

The Secretary is responsible for club records and correspondence, and is custodian of the Club Constitution and By-Laws and all other official club documents.

Specific duties:

  • Records and reads minutes of club and Club Officer meetings.
  • With the Vice-President Public Relations, maintains and coordinates updates of Istanbul Toastmasters web page and social media sites.
  • Takes pictures and videos during club meetings to feed social media sites.
  • Maintains the club blog on the Istanbul Toastmasters website
  • Provides minutes of all officer meetings.


Our current Treasurer is Alper Rozanes.

The Treasurer is responsible for the development and execution of financial policies, procedures, audits and controls. The Treasurer receives and disburses funds for payment of obligations and develops and recommends a budget to the board.

Specific duties:

  • Notifies members of dues payable, collects dues and works with other officers to ensure prompt and correct reports to World Headquarters.
  • Examines all bank statements and verifies accuracy as well as deposits all funds received in a timely fashion to the Istanbul Toastmasters bank account.
  • Issues receipts to all members for dues paid and reimburses members for valid club purchases upon approval of the President.
  • Arranges with Yapı Kredi Bank to be responsible for the Istanbul Toastmasters bank account.
  • Upon notice by VPM that a new member has joined, verifies receipt of payment and then immediately pays dues to Toastmasters International using own or club credit card and then notifies VPM, VPE and President of the new member’s membership number.


Our current Sergeant-at-Arms is Muhammad Yayha Faqs.

The SAA makes proper physical arrangements and sets out materials for all club meetings. The SAA serves as master host in welcoming members and guests and ensures that guests receives material provided by the VPM and VPPR.

Specific duties:

  • This officer is responsible for the orderly conduct of the club meetings, including: collection of ballots, tallying of votes and control of club property between meetings.
  • Arrive 10 minutes before Toastmaster meetings and coordinate with hotel staff to setup the meeting room.
  • Together with VPM, prepare welcome kits for new members including name tags.
  • Prepare and display guest name tags in a central place and help distribute and update tags with guests.
  • Coordinates and implements orders of supplies in support of club activities such as Banners, office supplies, etc.


Our immediate past President is Najwan Adileh.

The IPP provides guidance and serves as a resource to club officers and members. The IPP chairs the Nominating Committee, assists in the preparation of the Club Success Plan and promotes the club’s efforts to become a Distinguished Club. The IPP attends all Board Meetings and has an active voice in all decisions made.

After our annual club elections each officer receives a comprehensive manual that contains detailed explanations of officer duties and responsibilities.
